Our Prayer Request

Update / How God Has Provided
That we would be able to get everything done that God wants us to get done before the trip and not yield to our desires.
I'm happy to report we're doing well so far. God has been good to us. Now that we're in Beijing - we can say we finished well.
That Marisa would find favor among her caregivers during this time.
We could tell in talking with them they were very fond of her. These are special ladies who give love to a lot of kids and get them started well.
That Marisa would have a supernatural understanding that we are her mom and dad and be comfortable with us when she is handed to us.
She may not understand it yet, but she is certainly giving us the benefit of the doubt. What an answered prayer!
That we would not forget during this time of preparation to celebrate Christ and our four other children.
This has been a great time for our family - especially with Gaby and Matt we've been doing some special things with them and had some great times.
That all in our travel group and our special friends from church who are also going to China at the same time would have peace about the decisions they are making regarding travel and that all details would work out just the way God has planned for all of us.
As far as we know - they made it. We had snow in Kansas City that threw their plans, but we believe they made it to Chicago on Wednesday night to catch the Beijing flight on Thursday. We will know soon as we plan to meet up with them in Guangzhou.
For Natalie's car - got banged up the other day in the ice and we need to get it fixed. Just what we need right now! :-)
The dealer when we took it in had already knocked over $700 off the price for used parts that he found, etc. What a blessing!
That we would be well prepared for our journey and for all our stress to happen before we leave so we can relax and enjoy the trip.
So far we've been fairly relaxed and on top of the game. The first few days have been really busy (for good reason, I understand) but that has made some other parts difficult. In the end we've risen above it all.
That we would quickly get over our jet lag and bond with others on our trip.
Except for Natalie, we all slept pretty well last night. Hopefully she can catch up tonight.
That we would have a great day of sightseeing today and a day of bonding with the other families on our trip - they all seem awesome.
We had a wonderful day - God is good.
Please pray for all the families going to Guangdong Province with us. We've gotten to share a lot over the last couple of days, not the least of which are some pretty heavy emotions about this whole deal and the anxiety of it all coming to a new member of the family starting Feb 5th.
All the families are doing great - even the new parents are looking like pros. We're starting to settle into a routine now.
Please pray that we'd just ride out the remaining days of paperwork okay. We'd love to get home to the rest of the family, but that's just not the way it works. Pray that we would enjoy the time here and God would bless us with many reasons to want to stay.
Our final days were wonderful - especially Valentine's Day. I think God had that special day planned just for us.
Pray for Marisa's birth parents. We were given more detail today and my heart just broke as I thought about her parents leaving her to be found. It's hard to imagine.
We continue to pray they know she is well cared for.
New news on Natalie's car. As they got into it they realized it needed some expensive parts that can't be gotten used and is going to cost close to the original estimate. Pray that we would make the right decision on what to do with it.
We decided to go ahead and fix it. Time will tell if that was right, but we believe it was.
That Marisa would continue to develop her comfort level with us.
She is very well adjusted after a couple of weeks with us.
That our Internet connection would be more reliable so we can get our site posted in a reasonable amount of time.
It got a little better, but now that we're home - we're fine!
That our boys back home would continue to do well. We sure do miss them.
And they missed us - but grandma and grandpa kept 'em going.
