coming home:
Our Last Day
The only precipitation we got on the trip was
our last day when we had planned to take
pictures outside. Oh well - the hotel lobby
had to suffice. The bus shown was just like
the one that took us everywhere we went as
a group. Our Guangdong group is to the
right - adoptive parents are special people
and this group was no exception. We will
have many fond memories of these folks for
years to come.

Happy Birthday Babies!
Since many of us weren't with our children
when they turned one, we decided to have a
group party for them - what a hoot! You can
see the lengths one mom went to in order to
take pictures. We look forward to getting to
celebrate #2 on her birthday. By the way, the
cakes in the picture tasted as good as they
look.
All Good Things Must Come to an End
Packing to leave our China home for the last
two weeks. We had kind of gotten attached
to the place. Packing for this trip was difficult
as we had different weight limits on our
international flights vs. the domestic China
flight. And in China our scale was, you
guessed it, Doug's left arm and Doug's right
arm.
Hong Kong
We had a 10-hour layover in Hong Kong but
decided for the cost and weather to stay in
the airport rather than get out. Frankly, the
Hong Kong airport is a city unto itself and we
had a great time just exploring. They even
had some large play areas for the kids to
burn off some energy. It is a very
international city as the workers were
multi-lingual and you could purchase items
with almost any currency (of course change
was always returned in Hong Kong dollars).
Welcome Home
We had both sets of grandparents, some
aunts, uncles and cousins meet us at
10:30PM when we arrived - what a treat after
such a long time traveling. My dad even
made a Light Bright sign for us (picture not
yet uploaded). We think Marisa's got a pretty
cool family to help raise her. You can see
lower right - Matthew's getting to hug his
younger sister for the first time.
The Final Videos:
First is footage from the birthday party
we had for the girls. Next is our picture
slide show. Enjoy!
And a final thank you to those who have faithfully followed along. Just as we
mentioned on the home page - you are the reason we kept this site going.
We have heard from so many of you and what a blessing that's been. You
may know that we've been praying about adopting again. Please keep us in
your prayers for that. Knowing our faith, you may think that we'll end in a
great spiritual message. Our only message is to thank God for what He has
done and if you consider Jim Carrey spiritual (I don't), then in the words of
Truman Burbank - "Good morning! And in case I don't see you: good
afternoon, good evening and good night!"
